{"id":9571,"date":"2020-05-26T14:43:27","date_gmt":"2020-05-26T14:43:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.1stclass.ltd\/?p=9571"},"modified":"2020-05-26T15:23:55","modified_gmt":"2020-05-26T15:23:55","slug":"9571","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.1stclass.ltd\/index.php\/2020\/05\/26\/9571\/","title":{"rendered":"Laing O\u2019Rourke wins \u00a3160m Manchester tower"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The tower, which will be opposite 100 Greengate in Salford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Laing O\u2019Rourke has been named as preferred bidder on a \u00a3160m 55-storey residential tower at Greengate in Salford, Greater Manchester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Developer One Heritage has signed a pre-construction services agreement with the firm on the project which will include 545 flats, ground floor commercial units and a new riverside walkway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Much of the building is set to be delivered offsite by Laing\u2019s off-site factory in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, which the project team said will help enable social distancing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One Heritage director Jason Upton said: \u201cThis is a flagship scheme for the north west and it\u2019s fitting that we\u2019re working with a globally-recognised contractor. Laing O\u2019Rourke have responded energetically to the challenge and demonstrated their appetite for working alongside us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Work is expected to start on site in the third quarter of the year, with the scheme targeted for completion in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionnews.co.uk\/civils\/laing-orourke-supply-rivals-using-off-site-factory-22-10-2019\/\">Laing O&#8217;Rourke&#8217;s off-site factory generated revenue of \u00a335m<\/a>&nbsp;in the year to 31 March 2019, though it did not yet generate a profit as a standalone operation.
